Welcome to Pray the Vote, an initiative of The Presidential Prayer Team. We want to engage you in the upcoming elections—through prayer!
Whether your involvement in the political process has been limited to a casual glance at the debates or you are deeply involved, you may never have thought to engage the electoral process through prayer!
Prayer is the most significant way you can impact our country. When you bring the political process before God, things happen—by God’s initiative, and in your mind and heart. It’s a powerful and empowering process. We urge you to try it and see!
Promote Pray the Vote 2008! You can promote Pray the Vote 2008 to others by sending them a “Tell a Friend” e-mail, our Pray the Vote video, or even send a public service announcement and news release about Pray the Vote 2008 to your local radio stations. Election Day
Why are you cast down, O my soul, and why are you disquieted within me? Hope in God; for I shall again praise him, my help and my God. - Psalms 42:5
Father we come to you this morning seeking your direction for our lives. We have listened to the many speeches, the advertisements, the comments and the many opinions. Now it is our time to decide which team we feel should lead our Nation for the next four years. We cannot make the wrong decision, for to do so will allow our will and not yours to prevail. Father how do we choose? We need to quiet our hearts before you today and pray, seeking your wisdom above all others. We need leaders whose lives reflect you and your word of truth. "Unless you build the house, we labor in vain who build it." You tell us in your word, "You will bless the man who makes you his trust, who does not turn to the proud, to those who go astray after false gods." Your word never returns void but goes forth to accomplish your will. May we we walk in your will today choosing to follow you and not those who talk about you, but do not know you. "My sheep hear my voice and they follow me." Again we place our hope in you, for you never fail in keeping your word. For this we give you praise and rejoice in seeing your will be done. Amen. Too Close to Call As we enter the home stretch of the longest campaign in modern times, the most interesting, history-making campaign ever, it continues to keep us on the edge of our seats. Though some polls show Senator Barack Obama with a significant lead, others have him and Senator John McCain virtually neck-and-neck!
Interest remains very high in this fascinating race, and no one knows what the outcome will be.
If nothing else, we can see that Christians must engage seriously in the final days. We must continue to pray for the candidates, voters and election officials as November 4 approaches.
We have two fantastic ways for you to get involved!
